 Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Mintu Sinha
     

Dr.(Mrs.) Mintu Sinha is the Principal of Bombay Teachers’ Training College since the year 2004.  Prior to becoming the Principal she was teaching in the college since the year 1990 and also served as the Vice-Principal before being selected as the Principal.  During this period, she has contributed immensely to the academic excellence of the institution and brought about a sea-change with innovative thinking and acceptance of modern proven methods in teaching.  This has ensured that the college retains an eminent position amongst the best teacher education institutions not only in Mumbai but also in Maharashtra, attracting students from far and wide.  The college has also earned a reputation for quality teaching at the national and international level.

Dr. Sinha is a double post-graduate in political science and education and a double Ph.D. as well, a unique achievement even amongst the teacher educators. She has also done a certificate course in Educational Leadership at the University of West Georgia, U.S.A.  Moreover, she has delivered lectures and presented research based papers at various conferences in India and abroad.  Some of the countries where she has actively participated in academic and research deliberations are China, U.S.A., South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. 


She has been actively involved in improving quality and the standard of education in Mumbai University in the capacity of the Chairperson, Board of Studies in Education;  Member, Academic Council; Member, Research and Recognition Committee; Member, Local Inspection Committee etc.  She is also a member of the National Assessment & Accreditation Committee (NAAC), which evaluates the academic performance of Colleges of Education in India.  Dr. Sinha is also a recognized Ph.D. guide and at present four scholars are doing research under her guidance.  She has been a life member of AIAER, CTE, IATE, CCEAM.  Dr. Sinha believes in a persistent quest for excellence in all her endeavours.
