The NSS Unit of the college offers an opportunity to the student teachers for personality development and self growth through community engagement. This is the first year that the college has been allotted one unit of 100 students under the HSNC University, Mumbai.
All the students of B.Ed. are NSS volunteers and through the guidance of a dedicated program officer, NSS has achieved the objective of personality development through community service and the NSS Motto of “Not me but you”. The enthusiastic student volunteers always strive to achieve the best in what they do.
The activities under NSS include Blood Donation camps, Environmental Awareness Projects, Literacy Programmes for children on various contemporary themes, e-waste Management drive, Cleanliness drive, organization of all important days, health check-up camp, etc.
NSS is looking forward to adopting a village and helping them achieve 100% sanitation and empowerment. The NSS Unit wishes to take up women empowerment projects and training and aspires to help them make utility articles which the students may help them to market.
Students, who volunteer for this two-year programme of the HSNC University, are eligible for 10 grace marks in their final examinations. They have to put in 120 hours of work by participating in the above programmes to be eligible for the grace marks.
